Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. Tarmac Trading Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017. The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata comprising limestone at Stainton Quarry, Dalton-in-Fumess, Cumbria at National Grid Reference SD 24661 72870.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
? 4 cubic metres an hour ? 95 cubic metres a day
? 20,000 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for process water and dust suppression all year round.
Further details are: this existing abstraction was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991.
