ENVIRONMENT AGENCY Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. Tarmac Trading Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017. The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from underground strata comprising limestone at Swinden Quarry, Linton, near Skipton, Norm Yorkshire between National Grid References SD 97188 61393, SD 98324 62092, SD 98504 61658 and SD 97652 60975 to transfer it to a tributary of Mires Beck at National Grid Reference SD 98200 61400 without intervening use. Abstraction will take place all year round. Further details are: this existing is a transfer for the purpose of dewatering and was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991.
