(STONESFIELD) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - due to road safety concerns raised by local residents & the Parish Council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Stonesfield village replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety. Also, priority will be given to vehicles travelling northwards through the village on Laughton Hill/The Ridings at the junction with Boot Street. Signage will show that vehicles travelling south will have to Give Way to oncoming vehicles. The Oxfordshire County Council (Stonesfield) (30 Miles per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2012 will be revoked. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 6 September 2021 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Orders further amend The Oxfordshire County Council (North Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone and Various Restrictions) Order 2004, the Oxfordshire County Council (East Oxford) (Controlled Parking Zone, Waiting Restrictions and Traffic Management) Order 2010, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Summertown) (Controlled Parking Zone and Various Restrictions) Order 2004. The effect of order 1. which comes into force on 13 September 2021 is to change the following parking bay to facilitate the construction of a new access onto the highway:
1. North Oxford
- Belbrouqhton Road: a) the existing '3 hour parking bay with coach parking' on the north side (37 metres east of Banbury Road) will be removed and replaced with 'No Waiting at Any Time' (Double Yellow Lines) parking prohibition, and b) this to be relocated to the south side, to a point 32 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Banbury Road eastwards for 27 metres (adjoining the existing '2 hour parking bay) & replacing the existing DYLs by the same amount.
Additionally, some administrative changes are required to orders 2. & 3. so that the wording within the order reflects the existing signs & lines that are currently in place on the highway i.e. no changes will be made on the road. The amendments, which come into effect on 13 September are as follows:
2. East Oxford
- Collins Street: the length of the parking bay located 1 metre northwest of No.2 Collins Street will be amended from 20 metres to 5 metres.
3. Summertown
- a) Summerfield Road: change the schedule for the loading bay located 43 metres east of Banbury Road to allow for times of operation to be '6am-6.30pm Mon to Sat', and then clarify within the schedule that waiting is limited to 20 minutes with no return in 20 minutes, and b) Banbury Road Service Road: clarify within the schedule that for the loading bay located 131 metres south of South Parade that waiting is limited to 20 minutes with no return in 20 minutes.

If you wish to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 6 September 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
