The Core Strategy (Local Plan) is the document that sets out the planning strategy for Christchurch Borough and East Dorset District over the next 15 years. It sets out how much, what type, where and how development should take place and how this should be catered for. It sets out the vision and objectives for the area which are reflected in planning policies to achieve this.
The Hearing sessions as part of the Examination in Public of the Christchurch and East Dorset Core Strategy were closed on 26th September 2013. In accordance with the 2004 Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (as amended by the Localism Act 2011), the Councils requested that the Inspector present modifications needed to ensure the Plan is both sound and legally compliant.
