ORDER 2018 3.) (VARIOUS ROADS – SOUTH OXFORDSHIRE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND
PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.21) ORDER 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 3 April 2018 Oxfordshire
County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect
of the orders, which come into force on 6 April 2018
is as follows:
Orders 1 & 2) To implement a 20mph Speed Zone within the
Great Western Park residential development areas comprising
the Northern Neighbourhood and the District Neighbourhood.
Signage is displayed at the 3 entry points to Sir Frank
Williams Avenue (northern end and southern end) and Holly
Lane to the east. The surrounding roads are each subject
to 30mph. At the northern end of Sir Frank Williams Avenue
the speed limits change from 20 to 30 to 40mph up to its
junction with the A4130.
Order 3) Double Yellow Lines have been marked to Prohibit
Waiting at Any Time in various locations throughout
the development aimed at road safety and the prevention
of obstruction to through traffic. Each measure is introduced
from its junction with Sir Frank Williams Avenue as follows:
Ash Way: Both sides north-westwards for 8m.
Blackthorn Road: Both sides south-eastwards for 38m.
Bramble Lane: Both sides eastwards for 7m.
Candytuft Way: Both sides westwards for 16m.
Cottongrass Road: Both sides westwards for 7m.
Damson Drive: Both sides southwards for 7m.
Dan Read Parade: Both sides north-westwards for 7m.
Elm Park: Both sides northwards for 7m.
Fen Violet Drive: Both sides westwards for 7m.
Gentian Mews: Both sides eastwards for 38m.
Greenfinch Road: Both sides north-westwards for 15m.
Harebell Road: Both sides eastwards for 7m.
Jackdaw Road: Both sides north-westwards for 12m.
Juniper Way: Both sides south-eastwards for 7m.
Orchid Mews: Northern side eastwards for 11m; southern
side eastwards for 17m.
Red Kite Way: Both sides eastwards for 12m.
Rookery Court: Both sides south-eastwards for 7m.
Southern side eastwards for 17m.
Sir Frank Williams Avenue: (main spine road)
Western side from a point 100m south of its junction with the
A4130, southwards to a point 70m north from its junction
with the B4493 Didcot Road.
Eastern side (1) From a point 100m south of its junction with
the A4130, southwards to a point 32m south of a point
opposite the centre of its junction with Cottongrass Road, (2)
from a point 53m south of a point opposite the centre of its
junction with Cottongrass Road, southwards to a point 32m
north of a point opposite the centre of its junction with the
University Technical College Access Road,(3) from a point
opposite the centre of its junction with the University
Technical College Access Road, northwards for a distance of
15m.
University Technical College Access Road:
Northern side (1) From its junction with Sir Frank Williams
Avenue eastwards for 25m; (2) from a point 60m west from
Sir Frank Williams Avenue, westwards for 53m.
Southern side (1) From Sir Frank Williams Way westwards
for 20m;
(2) from a point 43m westwards for 90 metres.
A further effect of Order 3 is to introduce loading bays in
University Technical College Access Road on the northern
side from a point 25 metres west of Sir Frank Williams Way
westwards for 35 metres. Waiting Limited to 1 hour,
No Return for 1 Hour – All Days Waiting is currently prohibited
at either end of the bays.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Didcot Area) (Speed Limits)
Order 2015 and the (Harwell and Various Parishes) (Speed
Limits) Order 2016 are revoked/replaced.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – South
Oxfordshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and
Permitted Parking) Order 2008 is amended accordingly.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are
available for public inspection at County Hall, New Road,
Oxford OX1 1ND from 8.30am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday;
and at Didcot Town Council Information Centre, Didcot Civic
Hall, Britwell Road from 9am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday
and 9am to 3.45pm on Friday.
If you wish to question the validity of Order 3 only or of any
provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within
the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or
of any instrument made under it has not been complied with
in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from the
3 April 2018 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Didcot, Unnamed Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 16 April 2018
Coming into force: 23 April 2018
This Order is being introduced because of carriageway
maintenance works which are anticipated to take 1 month
to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit
any vehicle proceeding in the unnamed South Moreton road
from its junction with the A4130 Hadden Hill southwards
to Fulscot railway bridge. Appropriate traffic signs will be
displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the
works and for access to premises which are only accessible
from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via the A4130 Hadden Hill,
Long Wittenham Road, High Street, Dunsomer Hill, Sands
Road and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of
18 months or until the works have been completed whichever
is the sooner. (Ref JaC/T5454)
