ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Cowley, Shelley Road, Glanville Road, Cumberland Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 11 June 2018 – Coming into force: 18 June 2018
This Order is being introduced because of gas main replacement works which are anticipated
to take 6 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle
proceeding Shelley Road, Glanville Road and Cumberland Road (at the junctions with the B480
Cowley Road).
Anticipated dates: Shelley Road 18 June to 6 July, Glanville Road 25 June to 13 July, Cumberland
Road 2 July to 27 July.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises
which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for local traffic
will be signed accordingly.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been
completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref T5532/JaC)
(SUMMERTOWN) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE AND
VARIOUS RESTRICTIONS) (VARIATION NO.**) ORDER 20**
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Summertown) (Controlled Parking Zone and Various
Restrictions) Order 2004 will be further amended accordingly.
In Portland Road it is proposed to make the following changes:
1) To remove an area of two-hour parking places Monday-Sunday 8am-6.30pm North side
from a point 12 metres east of Banbury Road for 22 metres;
2) To introduce One-hour parking places - Monday-Sunday 8am-6.30pm North side; from a
point 12 metres east of Banbury Road for 15 metres;
3) There will also be renewed road markings to clearly define parking places and to
accommodate access protection markings.

between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and at Summertown Library, South Parade, OX2
7JN, on Monday & Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm, Tuesday & Thursday 9.30am to 7pm, and Saturday
from 9am to 4.30pm.
Objections to the proposal, specifying the grounds on which they are made and any other
representations should be sent in writing to the address below (or via the web address above) no
later than 13 July 2018. The County Council will consider objections and representations received
in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders
under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Orders will
further amend the Oxfordshire County Council (Vale of White Horse District) (Disabled Persons
Parking Places) Order 2006, and the Oxfordshire County Council (South Oxfordshire District)
(Disabled Persons Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2006 and the Oxfordshire County
Council (Abingdon) (One Way Traffic and Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 1980.
The effects of the proposals are to provide additional Disabled Persons Parking Places (and
remove one no longer required) as outlined below:
