A YOUTH club to encourage children to take up boxing is opening in Abingdon next week.

James Randall Guntert will be running boxing sessions for boy and girls agreed nine to 16 at Fitzharrys School in Northcourt Road.

An open day will be taking place at the school on Saturday, August 27 from 10am to 2pm and sessions will officially start on Tuesday, September 6 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Mr Randall Guntert said that he decided to set up the Vale of the White Horse School of Boxing to give children the chance to try out the sport and improve their self-confidence and discipline.
