Accountancy firm Wellers has recruited a record number of trainees.

Ten young number crunchers have joined the company, 60 per cent more than last year which bosses say is down to the growth of the company and promotion of previous trainees.

Eight will be based at the company’s offices in Oxford and Thame, with the other two splitting their time between Oxford and London.

The new starters are Richard Soper, Louise Dixon, Bethany Whitmore, Tom Walker, William Hunter, Richard Mahoney, Rebecca Cox, Russell Dowling, Helen Tallant, Holly Discombe and Tom Yallop, who will be studying for their accountancy qualifications whilst gaining hands on experience at the firm.

William Hunter, 18, from Wheatley, said: “It is great to be working at a firm that is large enough to give us a really broad range of experience but still retains very personal relationships with its clients.”

Wellers Accountants now employs a total of 80 staff across Oxfordshire and London.
