A SMORGASBORD of colours filled the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot as Vicky Vergou taught artists her painting techniques.

The series of watercolour workshops run until December 3 and give people the opportunity to find out more about the artistic technique.

The classes are open to mixture of experienced painters and complete beginners and run from 10.30am to noon on Thursdays.

Eileen Bracken, from Didcot, was one of those who has got involved.

She said: “The classes are really good. I do paint but I hoped that particular group could teach me something different because I normally do botanical illustration.

“I wanted to do something sort of free-flowing.

“The botanical illustrations are watercolour so it is the same medium but it is slightly different.

“We are about halfway through the course and I have learned colour-mixing and how to do washes.

“Washes are about making sure that the paint is put on the canvas evenly.”
