FIFTY paintings and drawings by local artist Tim Widdowson are on display at the Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot.

Tim, who has lived in the area for more than 30 years, works from a studio overlooking the River Thames at Long Wittenham.

The display of his work in the centre’s visual arts gallery on the lower ground floor runs until Saturday, December 6, and admission is free. Artwork in the exhibition will be available for purchase.

Among his work, Tim has produced commissioned pieces for many high- profile clients, including members of the Royal Family.

He has travelled extensively and lived abroad, sketching and painting wherever he has visited or worked.

Born in 1938, Tim was brought up in the Chiltern Hills, the landscape which inspired him to draw and paint. He studied at the High Wycombe College of Art and Design before becoming a designer for design and architectural firms, including Heals.

During that period, he developed the specialist skill of producing artists’ impressions (perspectives) of future design and architectural projects, which after nine years led him to go freelance and to devote more time to painting.
