CROWDS took to the railways to enjoy a post-Christmas ride on heritage steam trains.
The Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway hosted thousands of enthusiasts over the New Year bank holiday for 'mince pie' specials.
Guests sipped hot drinks and nibbled mince pies whilst travelling on the line from Chinnor station.
Despite problems with one of the engines causing delays to the initial run, railway volunteer Les Mott said everybody enjoyed themselves.
He added: "We think we got through more than 5,000 mince pies.
"It was perfect for people looking for something to do after Christmas."
The railway has now closed for maintenance until March 11.
