A STREET on a new estate may be named after a construction worker who died suddenly.
Tom Gaughan was a groundswork supervisor who was responsible for, along with his team, the vast majority of the road and drainage network on the Great Western Park estate in Didcot.
After his death in April, developer Taylor Wimpey has requested to name one of the streets in one of the final phases of the development after him.
A meeting of Didcot Town Council's planning and development committee supported the proposal which will now go to South Oxfordshire District Council.
