A 75-YEAR old pervert who was caught with more than a thousand images of bestiality as well as indecent images of children has been spared jail.

Terrance Moss, of Thorney Leys, Witney, had already admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and another of possessing 1,364 extreme pornographic images involving animals.

At his sentencing at Oxford Crown Court today prosecutors said that police first raided his home on February 24 last year and seized a laptop, computer and USB drive.

After analysing the devices they discovered 11 indecent images of children aged between seven and 11 as well as the sizeable haul of depraved animal imagery.

Investigators also found a number of web searches using web giant Google and the term ‘bestiality’ as well as ‘Japanese underage naked girls’.

In mitigation defence barrister Graeme Logan said that his client was a man of ‘essentially good character’, had served in the Royal Navy as well as being married for more than 60 years.

Sentencing Judge Zoe Smith said that the total stash of images ‘was a great many’ but said that while the offence crossed the custody threshold she would suspend the sentence.

He was given a four-month jail term suspended for two years and made subject to a community order to include 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement and a sex offenders programme.

He must also pay £500 costs and sign the sex offenders register for seven years.
