EYEWITNESSES have reported seeing a motorbike rider on the road at the scene of a crash on the A34 near Peartree Services in Oxford this morning.

A driver who asked not to be named said she saw two ambulances, two fire engines and a man on the ground on the southbound slip road shortly before 10am.

South Central Ambulance Service said it had recieved several 999 calls at about 9.30am reporting a collision between a car and a motorbike on the roundabout.

Spokesman David Gallagher added: "We currently have an ambulance and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance emergency response car at the scene.

"Our staff are reporting that the male rider has sustained an arm injury and fortunately the accident seems to have occurred at relatively low speeds."

It is expected the rider will be taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.
