WANTAGE Choral Society is launching a fundraising appeal to see it through the next five years, while another choir in the town is appealing for new male members.
Society Chairman Geoff Williams said: “We are a choir of more than 60 singers which has been performing choral music locally for 70 years.
"We are keen to increase the number of concerts which involve orchestras. However, at the moment we can only afford an orchestra for one of our three annual concerts
"We [also]need a new website."
To donate, contact Mr Williams on 012 35 798349 or geoffswilliams@talktalk.net
Meanwhile, a new community choir is kicking off in September and men are particularly needed.
Open to all ages and abilities, the choir will be directed by Mark Stanley who leads Didcot Community Gospel choir.
No previous singing experience is needed, and no auditions are necessary. The first session is on Tuesday, September 11 at the Baptist Hall from 7.30 pm. For further information email wantageinharmony@gmail.com
