A SECOND restaurant in Oxford has been raided by a burglar who rode off on an Ofo hire bike.

Café Coco in East Oxford's Cowley Road was raided just before 10am on Monday, by a man who simply walked in, opened the till and stole cash.

He walked out of the popular bar and restaurant and rode off on a yellow Ofo bicycle, and looked as if he was heading towards Cowley.

Just last week, police appealed for information after a man burgled Spice Lounge in Summertown.

He also walked in to the restaurant, opened the till and stole cash, before walking back out and riding off on a yellow Ofo bike.

Ofo is one of several dockless bike firms to deploy fleets of brightly-coloured bikes in Oxford.

Though the burglaries are similar, police have not confirmed if they are linking the two or suspect they were carried out by the same person.

Café Coco, which was targeted on Bank Holiday Monday, is one of several establishments run by Oxford restauranteur Clinton Pugh.

Appealing for witnesses today, Thames Valley Police said the burglar was described as white and in his late teens, with short dark hair.

He wore black Nike trainers, a white t-shirt with a black logo on the front, grey trousers with Nike branding on the leg and a grey hooded puffa jacket with orange lining.
