A TRIAL date has been set after a woman was allegedly stabbed in Oxfordshire woodlands.
18-year old Oliver Welsby, of no fixed abode, spoke only to confirm his name as he appeared at Oxford Crown Court this morning.
He is accused of stabbing Julie Faulkner who was walking her dog near Clifton Drive at Boxhill Park on the morning of July 19.
Welsby is accused of carrying out the alleged knife attack just days before his 18th birthday. While a plea was not entered at the brief hearing prosecutors agreed a provisional trial date which will be held at the same court next year.
The trial - which is expected to last five days, is set to take place on January 14.
He will appear again at Oxford Crown Court on November 2 where a plea is expected to be entered for the offence.
Welsby previously appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court charged with one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The final charge has not yet been put to Welsby.
