IT WAS smiles all around as TV's most famous engine rolled into town - to the delight of his young fans.
Thomas the Tank Engine was the special guest for the day at Didcot Railway Centre last weekend, happily taking youngsters along for the ride.
Train enthusiast, three-year-old Maxwell Steer from Wantage visited with his dad Andrew.
He got the chance to meet the fat controller and take a trip on the carriages behind the famous blue engine.
Thomas is a semi-regular visitor to the centre, situated across the tracks from Didcot Parkway station.
Dungaree-clad Sidekicks Rusty and Dusty were also on hand to entertain the crowds.
Thomas the Tank Engine will return once more this year for a festive-themed day out.
On weekends during December the engine will take children on a special trip to visit Father Christmas.
Tickets are available now and are priced £16, including a present.
