POLICE suspect a burnt out vehicle found in southern Oxfordshire was used in 'rural crime'.

The destroyed car, pictured with no windows or tyres and its bonnet up, was found in a field in Wantage.

Thames Valley Police said: "It was reported overnight as being on fire in a field and [we have] been to check on it this morning. On chatting to farmers we suspect at this point it has been used in rural crime offences overnight."

"We do not know how it came to be burnt out."
