RUBBLE scattered across the road after a shop front collapsed in St Aldate's in 1967.
The shopfront was completely destroyed as it crashed in to the road and seriously injured a scaffolder in the process.
It was undergoing work at the time it happened and all the rubble which littered the street partly blocked the road heading up to Christ Church.
Two years later the same thing happened when disaster struck a former Halfords shop in Queen Street when the third floor fell into the building.
