MOVES to introduce fines for drivers using a council car park have been rejected.
A private company had approached Didcot Town Council with a scheme to clamp down on people using the civic hall car park for non-council business.
But at a full meeting of the council the plans were thrown out unanimously because councillors didn't feel it was suitable.
Leader Steve Connel said he feels there is a need to stop people leaving their cars on the site for the whole day but said he wasn't concerned about short-stays including parents picking up from schools.
