A SPATE of thefts at an Oxfordshire beauty spot has prompted a police warning about a 'suspicious' car.
Thames Valley Police said there were a string of thefts from cars in Ashbury on Monday, near the White Horse at Uffington.
Ashbury is a popular starting point for ramblers on the Ridgeway, and is located at the edge of the Vale of White Horse district boundary.
Visitors have been asked to keep an eye out for a blue Toyota Celica with partial registration N131 ***, last seen in Sparsholt near Wantage.
A warning issued by the force last night stated: "Members of the public have identified [this car] as being of interest to us in relation to a spate of theft from vehicles in the Ashbury area.
"A suspicious vehicle matching this description was last sighted in the Sparsholt area yesterday [Monday] afternoon.
"We ask for people to be vigilant at rural beauty spots and report any concerns of suspicious behaviour immediately."
