A HOMELESS man has been banned from Abingdon for three years due to 'persistent anti-social behaviour'.

Jason Tampin was issued with the criminal behaviour order when he appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

The order, which will remain in place until 2021, specifies the 37-year-old, of no fixed abode, must not light fires or destroy property that does not belong to him, or drink alcohol in a public place.

It also prohibits him from entering Abingdon and 'causing any member of the public harassment, alarm, distress, annoyance or nuisance'.

PC Matt Ladd, based at Abingdon police station, said: “This order will help to protect the community from Tampin’s persistent anti-social behaviour.

“We take anti-social behaviour very seriously and we will look to prevent those responsible from carrying it out.”
