TWO DRIVERS were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A420.

A white Fiat Panda and a black Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision on Thursday, which happened near Watchfield just after midday.

Both drivers, a 73-year-old woman and a 70-year-old woman, were taken to hospital for treatment, where they remained yesterday.

The crash led to a lengthy road closure and a diversion, with queues of standstill traffic at either side of the incident.
