A WOMEN'S rights panel event will be held on Monday as part of Oxford International Women’s Festival.
The event looks to mark 100 years since women over the age of 30 were able to vote in a General Election for the first time on December 14, 1918.
Speakers lined up for the celebratory evening include Dr Helen Pankhurst, author, women’s’ rights activist and granddaughter of Sylvia Pankhurst; Dr Katherine Connelly, a historian, activist and writer, known for her book Sylvia Pankhurst: Suffragette, Socialist and Scourge of the Empire and Dr Katherine Bradley, historian and a co-founder of the Oxford International Women’s Festival.
The discussion will look at the impact that the granting of the partial vote to women had on women’s lives.
The event will take place on Monday, December 17 at the Wesley Memorial Hall, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford from 6.30pm to 9pm.
