A PLANNED protest against mental health cuts in Oxfordshire will not go ahead on Sunday after Oxfordshire County Council made a u-turn on the decision.

The demo had been planned to take place outside the council's headquarters in County Hall.

The council this week announced it had scrapped plans for £1m worth of cuts to local NHS mental health services next year.

Organisers say another rally may take place later this month in protest at a further £600,000 of cuts which have merely been delayed by a year.
