A BOMB scare closed off a city centre street in 1990.
Crowds looked on as police cordoned off Queen Street after reports of a suspect package.
Most of the road was closed off to the public up to High Street and people gathered at the entrance to The Clarendon Centre to keep a watchful eye.
The city has been subject to a number of bomb scares over the year's including a cordon put in place at Oxford Railway Station in 1991 and July 2005, Culham laboratories, near Abingdon, in January 2007, and a suspect device reported at St Hugh's College in June 2013.
