SHOPPERS in Bicester have been warned to be stay alert after a spate of pickpocketing.
A message circulated by officers in the town today noted 'several reports of purse dipping' in the town centre in the past few days.

The statement added: "Please keep all bags, purses and wallets secure about your person and be vigilant of others around you.
"Lanyards and purse bells are available from Bicester Police Station should you require them."
Before Christmas, a Kidlington-based police officer issued advice about how to avoid falling victim to a pickpocket.

His tips included keeping handbags fastened towards the body, and placing wallets in an inside coat pocket.
