A PROJECTIONIST is reeling back the years by asking for memories of cinemas in Kidlington.

Linda Pike, a projectionist of more than 30 years, is researching the topic for a post graduate university degree at the University of Worcester.

As part of her efforts Ms Pike is looking into the days of cinema screenings in Kidlington from years gone by.

She wants to speak with residents about films, audiences and employment during the Second World War.

The projectionist has asked for any readers who enjoyed a trip to the cinema in the 1940s in Kidlington to get in touch.

She said: “I am interested in finding out who were their favourite film stars and films when they visited the pictures during the war. Were they a fan of Hollywood stars such as Tyrone Power, Clark Gable and Bette Davis or did they prefer the British stars like John Mills, Vivian Leigh and Patricia Roc?”

Ms Pike is also looking for anyone who worked in a cinema in Kidlington at the same time. Call 01684 772028 or email linda.pike54@hotmail.com
