The story, by Warner Horizon, is set in the 1960s inside the DC Comics Gotham Universe and follows a young Alfred Pennyworth, having recently left the SAS. The Batman prequel tells a story of how Pennyworth finds himself working for Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne.

Thought to be playing the role of Pennyworth is actor Jack Bannon, who starred in the film The Imitation Game alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley - also filmed partly at Bicester Heritage.
