A planning application was submitted to Vale of White Horse District Council this week by the town council, which owns the building.

It is planned for the 1950s external staircase at the rear of the Old Magistrates Court on Bridge Street.

It follows a £1m revamp of five historic rooms in the building, as well as a disability friendly toilet which was installed last year.
