RAIL users have been warned to expect delays and diversions this weekend while engineering works for HS2 are carried out.

Chiltern Railways said there will be track improvement work between London Marylebone and High Wycombe on both days and that this would lead to longer journey times and customers possibly having to change trains or use a rail replacement bus service.

The Beaconsfield line will be closed today and tomorrow due to the combination of Network Rail works and preparation for high speed rail at West Ruislip.

Alan Riley, Customer Services Director of Chiltern Railways explains: “We appreciate that engineering work is disruptive to our customers and we are doing everything we can to minimise this disruption as much as we can.

"It is essential that anyone travelling on February 9 and 10 checks their journey before they travel, as this will impact all our routes."

He added: “We also recommend purchasing tickets in advance from our website or app to save time at stations and guarantee the best price.”
