WITH Valentine's Day almost upon us restaurateurs across the city will already be filling their bookings for couples wanting a romantic night out.

And with just days before February 14 we scoured the 410 restaurants, cafes and canteens, across Oxford to find the best and the worst for cleanliness according to the Food Standards Agency.

See below for the full breakdown.

Of the restaurants given an FSA hygiene rating just three scored the lowest - earning a one out of five rating.

Almost two thirds of the city's restaurants, at 269, scored the maximum possible rating of five out of five.

None of Oxford's eateries had a zero star rating.

*The information is correct as of February 9 from the FSA.

What do the scores mean?

The definitions are as follows:

5 – hygiene standards are very good

4 – hygiene standards are good

3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory

2 – improvement is necessary

0 – urgent improvement is required
