THE owner of a Headington tattoo shop that closed amid complaints over delayed refunds has reiterated his commitment to pay back all those owed money.

Daniel Hall, commenting on the Oxford Mail's story about angry customers left frustrated by months of 'excuses' from Oxford Ink Custom Tattoos, said: "As I stated in two posts publicly Facebook posted on Oxford ink page all refunds or rebooking people back in will be done at the end of February."

He also said the full amount owed was £900 and reposted the statements from the business's Facebook page, which was deleted on Thursday night, blaming others for the issues with the Roundway shop and apologising to those affected.

The Oxford Mail attempted to speak to Mr Hall for the original story via this page but he did not respond.

Readers have been broadly supportive of the business owner, with Roy Rover commenting: "Sadly, that is the problem when buying gift vouchers from anywhere, but especially independent stores, if they go bust you're unlikely to get your money back.

"For what it's worth my personal experiences of the store were good, albeit they were from a few years back. Daniel also from what I know of him seemed like a decent enough guy, so if he has had a personal family tragedy such as losing his father, then he not only has my deepest sympathy for his loss, but maybe we should give him some time to try and honour his word to rectify the situation when he's able to get back on his feet."

Several customers had left irate reviews on the Oxford Ink page in recent weeks as they chased sums of up to £300.

Mr Hall has said he intends to open a new tattoo shop by the end of the month.
