TWO Thames Valley Police officers have been injured in a crash with a lorry.

The collision happened at about 11.40pm last night on the A4 at Hungerford, south of Wantage.

The force said the officers, who were on duty at the time, were driving on the Bath Road when they were in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

One of the officers sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The other officer suffered only minor injuries.

The lorry driver, a 33-year-old man from Wolverhampton who was not injured, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He remains in police custody.
