THESE Didcot school pupils were among the hundreds of schoolchildren up and down the country who dressed up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day yesterday.
The annual literary celebration sent children into a frenzy once again as they channelled their inner storybook heroes, villains and characters to recreate their looks at school.
Peter Pan, monkeys and tigers all featured in the Willowcroft Community School’s celebrations for the day.
Elsewhere around the county characters such as Funny Bones the skeleton, the BFG, Diddy Kong, Stickman and Horrid Henry made an appearance.
World Book Day is a registered charity which works to help give every child and young person a book of their own.

The annual day of celebration for the cause includes primary school children up and down the country and beyond dressing up as their favourite fictional friends and foe.
It not only hopes to help raise money through school collections for the charity, but also encourage young children to get into and enjoy reading.
The Oxford Mail was inundated with pictures from families across the county who were celebrating World Book Day.
Costumes ideas included Oompa Loompa’s from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Enormous Crocodile, Snow White and Spiderman.
Readers were asked to send their pictures online and more than 50 photos were sent in.
A selection of the best fancy dress pictures will be published in the Oxford Mail on Saturday.
