A DISABILITY-friendly toilet block campaigned for by parents has opened in Abingdon's Abbey Meadow park.
The revamped toilet block, which reopened on Wednesday, includes a ‘Space to Change’ facility, which includes a wheelchair accessible toilet and a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and hoist.
The block has been completely refurbished and includes five self-contained unisex toilets and a men’s urinals.
There are also baby changing facilities available.
In 2017 residents fought for eight months to convince Vale of White Horse District Council to change its original designs for the facility.

The renovation of the toilets is the final part of the council’s major makeover of Abbey Meadow which also included a revamped play area and the complete rebuilding of the outdoor pool, which reopened last year.
Alice Badcock, Vale Cabinet member for community services, said: “Abbey Meadow is the most-visited park in the district and now with all the changes we have made to make it more accessible, it can be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.”
District council ward member Helen Pighills added: “These improvements are great news.
“The inclusion of a ‘Space to Change’ toilet is so important for ensuring more families and children with disabilities can make use of Abbey Meadow.”
