NEW plans for 183 homes in rural South Oxfordshire have emerged.

Developer Bloor Homes, working with a company called Archstone Projects Limited, has submitted proposals to build the huge new estate off Britwell Road in Watlington.

The planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council also includes public open space, a 'sustainable urban drainage system'; landscaping and up to 650sq m of business.

The companies have written: "The scheme will provide a mix of new high-quality family housing, set in a safe, walkable neighbourhood which will provide much needed new accommodation within the town."

They also reveal that they have 'reviewed' the plans, following an earlier draft scheme, and said their latest proposal had been 'designed to reflect the character of Watlington with emphasis on providing a landscaped setting to the northern and southern boundaries and a green entrance to the site, much like the existing edge conditions in the town'.
