FORGET the humble spoon race - these pupils have found less traditional ways to transport their eggs.

The 'egg mobile' challenge was posed to children at Marsh Baldon CE Primary School last week, as part of Easter-themed activities.

Pupils across the entire school were tasked with homework to design and create a small 'vehicle' or contraption, which could carry a real boiled egg.

No electrical power of any kind was allowed, so children had to think about utilising gravity, rubber bands, balloons and alternative energy sources.

The school, near Nuneham Courtenay, asked pupils to demonstrate their clever inventions in front of their peers last Wednesday.

Some children even decorated their eggs to make them look like tiny people.
