A VILLAGE near Wallingford is finally celebrating the opening of a new playground.
Crowmarsh Gifford's new 'enlarged and updated' facility also includes an outdoor gym which will support the local stroke club.
Billed as a 'community hub' as well as a play area, it is hoped that the new venue will also serve as an area for social gatherings on the recreation ground.
Accessible play equipment, a roundabout, slides and swings and more is available.
District Council Chairman Councillor Lorraine Hillier officially reopened the playground – which was first built 20 years ago – on Sunday, April 7.
Parish Councillors Andrew Johnson, David Rowley, and their team of volunteers helped plan the re-invigorated facility.
The council hopes that the area 'will ultimately lead to a healthier and happier Crowmarsh'.
It added that the area is "an amazing facility that will benefit all in the community today and in the future as it fosters good health and community cohesion."
