WANTAGE hospital campaigners are urging residents in the OX12 area to take part in a NHS Survey which could help determine the future of the facility.

Save Wantage Hospital Campaign Group say Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) have not made it clear that the survey will be used to help make a decision on the community hospital, which was 'temporarily' closed to inpatients almost three years ago.

OCCG has said the survey will help health bosses find out where the Health and Wellbeing services used by local residents are located and where they have to travel to access them.

However, chairman of the campaign group, Maggie Swain said: "The campaign group have, where ever possible helped the NHS in providing data and distributing the survey, but feel let down by the exclusion of any specific reference to the hospital.

"All we ask is that as many people as possible respond to the survey and when they get to Question 12 which says, 'Thinking about all the services that you use, are there any services that you would like to have access to that are not currently available to you and why?' - remember our community hospital."
