Shoppers in Oxford got an unexpected treat when they came across a group of German folk dancers on September 1, 1976.
The Besse Folk Dance Group from West Germany were visiting England and spent the day in Oxford sight-seeing and dancing.
As shoppers found out, they could not miss the chance to do some dancing as well at Pennyfarthing Square off St Ebbes.
The group returned to Birmingham after spending the evening as the guests of the Wantage Folk Dance Group.
