A CARTERTON woman who is set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Helen and Douglas House in October is holding a black-tie ball to raise funds.
Claire Evans will hold the event at Witney Lakes Resort on Saturday June 1 as part of a challenge to raise £4,000.
Ms Evans works at the Witney branch of TSB, whose Oxford and Cowley branches support the Oxford hospice.
Last year, she raised £700 by completing a sky dive for Helen and Douglas House and is continuing to test herself with harder challenges.
She said: "Years ago I vowed if I ever lost the weight I wanted to I would run the London marathon.
"I have now lost four-and-a-half stone, but decided to look for a different challenge."
Ms Evans is among a team of 12 who will climb the mountain in October.
The ball, which includes a three-course meal, welcome drink, live band, auction and raffle, costs £45 per person, or £400 for a table of 10.
The Champions League Final will be shown.
