THE NEW play park at Elms Field in Wokingham is taking shape, which is part of the town’s regeneration project.
The play area has been designed following feedback from Plan Inclusive Play and pictures show a new climbing frame, swings and a range of play equipment for children to enjoy.
The new play equipment is just one of the new additions to the former park, there will also be a new Aldi supermarket, a 96-room Premier Inn Hotel and a cinema.
Wokingham council hopes the new play area sets the benchmark for inclusive play areas across the country.
The designs across the site have been amended to use suggestions made by residents during a consultation in 2016, including a new carousel swing unit, a bigger trampoline, sculptures, climbing logs and feature benches from trunks cut down during the work.
