CHILDREN from a nursery in Sandhurst have put pen to paper and written to fellow pre-schoolers as part of a new writing initiative.
The children from Greengables Day Nursery in Owlsmoor started writing after learning all about letters and how they reach their recipients using stamps.
At the day nursery in Yeovil Road, children posted the letters to fellow pre-schoolers at Oak Tree Day Nursery in Finchampstead.
Jen Ralphs, Greengables Day Nursery manager, said: “The children had a brilliant time writing their letter and delivering it to the post box, and are excitedly awaiting the response. This project proves an excellent opportunity to develop language skills and practice letter writing, all whilst forming new friendships with peers in the wider community.”
The aim of the letters is to find out about other children's interests and what they are currently learning about.
