POLICE are appealing for help in their search for a man from Wallingford who has gone missing.

UPDATE: Missing man Robert Ely found

Robert Ely, 67, of Fir Tree Avenue, was last seen at around 10.40am at Lloyds Bank in Wallingford on Tuesday.

Mr Ely is white, around 6ft 1in tall with short grey/white hair.

Although it is not known what he was wearing when he was last seen, he usually wears a shirt and trousers.

He is known to frequent Oxford and Wallingford, and has been known to travel to Oxford on the bus.

The police now has information suggesting that he may have boarded a train heading towards London at Goring, Cholsey or Didcot.

If you have seen him at any of these locations, contact the police.

Investigating officer PC Alex Norrish of the Henley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Robert has not been seen for two days, and we are very concerned for his welfare.

“We do not know whether Robert has any access to money, but we know that his mobile phone and his car are at home.

“I am appealing to anybody who believes that they have seen Robert, or has any information as to his whereabouts, to contact the 24-hour contact centre on 101, quoting reference number 43190169296.

“Robert’s family are naturally very worried for his wellbeing, and we are making every effort to locate him and bring him home to his loved ones.”
