Investigating officer PC Steve Cardwell, based at Wantage police station, said: “We are releasing these images as we now know that Robert travelled by train to London on Tuesday.

“I am hoping that these images may jog someone’s memory from Tuesday and can help us in our investigation.

“Robert was not seen engaging with anybody on the CCTV footage.”

The force is also appealing for information regarding an elderly man seen jogging bare-footed in Station Road, Cholsey, today at 6.30am.

PC Cardwell added: “We received reports this morning of a man matching Robert’s description jogging in Cholsey.

“We are keen to identify this man, and would ask anybody who knows who this man is to contact us.
