YOUNG vandals hurled eggs at a house and left the resident 'frightened and distressed.'

Police said 'youths' egged someone's home in Carterton yesterday, and officers have pledged to track down those responsible, branding it a 'mindless' incident.

Reporting via Facebook, officers in West Oxfordshire said: "The resident was unacceptably frightened and distressed by this mindless act.

"We now have a good description of the offender, and will be visiting them in the near future."

On Sunday police said they had started a monitoring operation around Kilkenny Lane Country Park in Carterton, 'due to recent antisocial behaviour.'

A similar ASB problem was also identified earlier this month at Eynsham's Witney Road play area, with signs put up stating 'police operation in progress.'
