WE could not resist this spectacular snap of a soaring red kite for picture of the week.
A slightly more unusual entry for our 'red' theme, the shot captures light illuminating the magnificent plumage of the bird of prey.
Taken by Stephen Pimm, we love how the black background helps highlight the impressive leve of detail the snapper has managed to capture, with the individual feathers bathed in a warm glow.
