A BERKSHIRE charity is hosting their first fundraising walk to raise funds for a rare skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

DEBRA have organised the butterfly walk, which will take place at Greenham Common and participators will get the chance to immerse themselves in natural beauty, in an area known for attracting wild butterflies to raise money for the charity.

EB is a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to an unstoppable external blistering, which affects 500,000 people worldwide and is sometimes known as butterfly skin.

DEBRA provides care and support to people suffering from EB, funding pioneering research into effective treatments and into finding a cure.

Currently hundreds of walkers, including twenty-one members of a family from Newbury are expected to take part to raise funds and awareness of the condition.

Walkers can choose either 4km or 8km distances and there will be medals presented at the end. The walk will take place on Saturday, July 6.
